Dolly Parton shared insight into her plans to turn her life’s story into a Broadway musical. The production is called, Hello, I’m Dolly, and it will eventually make it to the Broadway stage sometime in 2026. Parton is co-writing the new musical with Maria S. Schlatter, who previously worked with the singer on the 2020 Netflix movie, Christmas on the Square. Hello, I’m Dolly will feature classic songs from Parton’s legendary career, as well as new material that Dolly is writing specifically for the show.
Parton shared this statement about her forthcoming musical: “Hello, I’m Dolly, and I lived my whole life to see this show on stage. I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it as well. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp; it truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended.
