Hector Goudreau was in Bonnyville on Friday, and sat down with the Mayors of Bonnyville and Glendon, MLA Genia Leskiew, and MD Reeve Ed Rondeau.

On the agenda was the ongoing Cold Lake dissolution study. Rondeau says that he made it very clear what the MD's position was on the topic.

"I did make it clear to him that the amalgamation of the MD and the city of Cold Lake was not something that the MD residents wanted and that we would fight that," says Rondeau. "And he agreed that to put two municipalities of our size together would be an extremely difficult task."

Rondeau adds that he made it clear that the MD does not want to go into a revenue-sharing agreement with the city of Cold Lake, and instead would only consider a cost-sharing agreement.
